Visualization is a creative exercise where you use your imagination to "see" or create a picture of an event or an experience.

Using the visualization exercise below, take a few minutes to think about and "see" the scene being described. Hit play and get ready to close your eyes!

For reflection....

The intent behind this exercise is to emphasize the experience of a person living with dementia.  After you complete the exercise, take a few minutes to reflect on the following questions.  Feel free to make some notes.

  • What stood out for you as you listened?
  • How did it make you feel?  What did it remind you of?
  • What is this all about? What does all this mean for you as a care partner?
  • What will you continue to do in your role as a care partner?  What will you stop or do differently?
