The original Brain Health Food Guide was developed through the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) as an evidence-informed resource outlining dietary recommendations to support brain health and healthy aging. As part of the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories’ ongoing work with cultural communities, the Guide has been adapted and co-designed with South Asian community members to better reflect culturally relevant foods, dietary practices, traditions and perspectives. The adapted Guide is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. The webinar will introduce the adapted Guide, provide context on how and why it was developed, and explore the relationship between nutrition, brain health, healthy aging and dementia risk reduction. A significant portion of the session will be dedicated to an interactive panel discussion with registered dietitians. Panellists will reflect on the Guide and culturally relevant approaches to nutrition and brain health, followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions directly and engage in discussion with the panel.
